Date: 19. 5. 2025, Slovenia Disseminating the project at the Slovenian CIGRE-CIRED Conference Martin Černezel from Elektro Celje presented an article "Establishment of a medium-voltage loop for improved supply reliability as part of the GreenSwitch project". The article describes the planning and construction process of the loop in a challenging rural area, with a focus on the parameterisation of protection relays. Additionally, it highlights the positive and negative lessons learned during the construction of the first loop, which will be crucial for the implementation of future planned medium-voltage loops. Elektro Celje is establishing the first medium-voltage loop as part of the European GreenSwitch project, enhancing the reliability and quality of electrical supply for distribution network users in the operational area. The loop will be segmented into seven sections, which will selectively disconnect in case of faults through automated transformer stations. Key transformer stations within the network will be equipped with smart meters, which will transmit real-time data to the ADMS system.
